Eclipse Digital Solutions Ltd delivered a highly complex drone detection system and Enhanced Security Capability project on a large water-fronted site.
The WASS project consisted of the installation of six sensor sites across the location, which included areas of dense woodland, on a combination of different towers deploying varying sensor technology. These ranged from roof-mounted towers with building loading calculations to ground-based towers designed and installed to withstand one in 10,000-year wind events.
Sensors including RF, radar and visual optical cameras were installed and networked via our fibre optic cables into the existing infrastructure. Eclipse also provided the 230V power and civils’ attendances on this challenging site by using the incumbent contractor’s in-depth knowledge of the area to carry out compliant installations within budget constraints.
Accurate detection was of paramount importance for the ESC project.
The installation comprised four towers on one site and two towers on another, using radar technology with dual thermal optical PTZ cameras for verification. Towers were placed in different locations, with some designed and installed to withstand one in 10,000-year wind events.
All civil engineering, 230V power and a fibre optic network were delivered in this project, along with integration into a new front-end solution and recording and review capability in the control room.
